SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE
Traditionally, most organizations concentrated the QA effort on technical
IT issues only. Many still do. However, a growing trend is for organizations
to have increasingly high expectations about IT service quality and
customer service, along with concerns about corporate governance and
cost. ConduIT’s Modular QA Process addresses these factors with
a flexible software quality process that extends the quality envelope
from project inception to last use.
Unique management control system. Uniquely
among QA processes, it deploys specific resources to cut the roughly
40% project failure rate that has been attributed to loss of control
by management.
Supports all quality and governance frameworks. Because our process is modular, it can easily fit into the interstices
of other frameworks and recommended practices such as CMMI, ITIL, COBIT,
the ASQ/IEEE BOK, Six Sigma, Baldrige, CAE, EFQM, SPICE (now ISO/IEC15504),
ISO9000, etc.
Comprehensive. The fine-grained QA Implementation
Plan Template and QA Guide specify all standard required tasks down
to the individual task level to ensure that nothing is missed. The
QA Plan stresses formal planning, formal event-triggered risk assessments,
use of appropriate metrics, exploratory and scenario testing, test
automation, finding defects early, a high performance team approach
to testing that includes the project manager, developers, and customer
facing staff; organization-wide quality awareness education, and a
clear customer and user focus.
Modular. We achieve an immediate and practical
solution to existing procedural weaknesses with a set of stand alone,
adaptive process modules that target specific problem areas efficiently.
Innovative. We maintain an active file on new
developments in QA and develop our own in-house methods to improve
QA processes. The mechanics of documentation is one of the major impediments
to the efficiency in testing. Our recently developed voice dictation
method reduces test planning and defect reporting time by a factor
of two to four.
Extensive QA knowledge base support. Hundreds
of useful templates, just-in-time educational resources, and fully
tested practical tools are linked directly to the Implementation Plan
and Guide.
